Saniflo Sanipack
The Saniflo SaniPACK macerating upflush toilet is the ideal unit for a full bathroom addition in your home, office, or rental space. Capable of pumping vertically up to 9 feet, the Saniflo SaniPACK connects wall-hung toilets, sinks, and showers and moves waste water up to 9 vertical feet from the sewer line and 100 horizontal feet from a soil stack. Available options include the SaniALARM, which warns if the water in the macerator pump reaches dangerously high levels, and a descaler, which cleans and removes any hard water deposits that may be present in the macerator.
Designed to be easy to connect, the Saniflo SaniPACK only features four connections: a connection from the macerator pump to the discharge pipe, the toilet tank to the water supply, the pump to the small diameter discharge pipe, and the pump to the electrical supply. Because of this simplicity, adding the Saniflo SaniPACK to your complete bathroom only requires a few hours and some basic tools. You won’t need to hire a plumber or spend time and money on your bathroom installation.

How It Works
The inside of the Saniflo SaniPACK consists of a pressure chamber, which starts and stops the unit, and the motor, which drives the stainless steel macerator blades.
When the flush is activated, the water flowing into the macerating pump activates a micro switch in the pressure chamber, which in turn starts the motor. The motor is sealed for life in an oil-filled enclosure. A common spindle/shaft drives the impeller and the macerator blades. The moving parts, therefore, are kept to an absolute minimum. Water and organic waste matter enter the chamber and are reduced to slurry as the macerator blades rotate at 3600 RPM. The centrifugal force causes the reduced solids to be ejected through a grill into the container, where they are picked up by the impeller pump mounted beneath the motor.
The Saniflo SaniPACK unit pumps the effluent upward to 9 feet and/or 100 feet horizontally (with gravity fall). Once the water is discharged and the water level in the container goes down, the micro switch deactivates the Saniflo SaniPACK until the flush is activated again. A normal operating cycle for the Saniflo SaniPACK takes about 7-9 seconds, depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is minimal.
In addition to the toilet waste, the Saniflo SaniPACK will also discharge gray water from a variety of other sanitary fixtures, such as a sink, a wall-hung toilet, a shower and a urinal. When adding a shower, a base will have to be constructed. This base should be 2" x 6" (minimum) or 2" x 8" (recommended) on edge, to allow for the installation of a P-trap and the required 1/4" per foot gravity flow towards the Saniflo SaniPACK pump unit.
Wastewater from other sanitary fixtures is discharged into the Saniflo SaniPACK via two 1-1/2 inch inlets on either side of the housing. Either one or both inlets can be used as required. Depending on the discharge installation, the discharge elbow on top can be turned either to the left, to the right, or toward the back. A non-return valve, assembled on the discharge elbow, prevents backflow into the unit.
The Saniflo SaniPACK unit has been designed with a vent connection on the lid, as all plumbing codes require connection to a vent system.
Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent. Using mechanical vents, air admittance valves, or similar devices is not permitted as these are considered one-way air vent systems.
It is also highly recommended that the Saniflo SaniPACK macerator/pump be connected to a ground fault interrupter (GFI) circuit.
The SaniPACK is designed to be used with a wall-hung toilet. The depth of the case allows for the SaniPACK pump to be installed within the wall. Since the reservoir, the macerating pump and the pipes are hidden from view, this type of installation gives you the lean and clean look of a modern or European bathroom.
Plumbing Code Certified
The SaniPACK has been certified to American and Canadian standards. Macerating standard; US: CSA Certified & IAPMO (UPC) listed - ASME A112.3.4, CA: Macerating Standard CSA B45.9.
