The slurry inside macerating toilets is ejected by centrifugal force through a grille to a container, where it is then taken by the motor-mounted impeller pump. The effluent is pumped up to 15 feet away vertically and 150 feet horizontally. When the water level goes down in the container, the unit is deactivated by the microswitch until it is flushed again.
